This conference is
the fourth Edition of the
International Conference on “Spins in Molecular Systems (SIMS 2025)”
jointly organized by IIT Kharagpur and S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences during November 29 - December 01, 2025.
The previous three editions of the Spin in Molecular Systems
conference were successfully organized by IISc Bangalore (in 2022, 2023, and 2024).
The international conference "Spins in Molecular Systems 2025 (SiMS 2025)" aims to bring together leading researchers across chemistry, physics, and materials science to discuss the latest breakthroughs in understanding and manipulating spin degrees of freedom in molecular frameworks. This rapidly evolving field lies at the interface of quantum materials, molecular magnetism, and functional molecular systems, and plays a pivotal role in the development of next-generation technologies ranging from quantum computing and spintronics to smart sensors and memory devices.
The conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the theoretical, computational, and experimental advances in molecular spin systems, including both fundamental mechanisms and emerging applications. Topics include, but are not limited to:
This conference fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration, uniting synthetic chemists who design and engineer spin-active molecules, experimental physicists who explore spin phenomena under diverse external stimuli, and materials scientists who develop functional materials and device architectures. Discussions will highlight how advances in structural characterization, quantum control, and multiscale modeling synergize to push the boundaries of molecular spin systems.
Through invited talks and poster sessions, "Spins in Molecular Systems 2025" will serve as a dynamic platform to explore the frontiers of spin science and shape future directions in the design and implementation of molecular spin technologies.
