The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry at IIT Kharagpur, is hosting the Yusuf Hamied Chemistry Camp from June 28th-30th, 2024.  
The Yusuf Hamied Chemistry camp is a three-day residential camp aimed at teaching hands-on Chemistry to young children, to promote an interest in the subject. In the Yusuf Hamied Chemistry Camps, 72-76 Grade IX students mostly from Government/ Government aided schools participate. The Camp enables the students to participate in the fun of Chemistry and motivates them to develop both awareness of, and a long-term interest in the subject through an action-packed program that includes hands-on practical activities in University labs, exciting chemical demonstrations, a chance to meet like-minded students including a taster of life staying in University hostels, and also, more importantly, the Camp activities are delivered in the local language in addition to English. The program comprises of about 6 fixed experiments that the students perform hands-on in addition to one or two talks, science show, lectures, movie screened by the University, etc. over three days.
