The nearest major airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) in Kolkata, approximately 150 km away. From the airport, take a taxi or pre-paid cab to IIT Kharagpur — the journey by road takes around 3–4 hours depending on traffic.
Kharagpur Junction or Hijli railway station are the nearest stations, both well-connected to major Indian cities. From Kharagpur Junction (≈ 8–10 km away, ~20 min by taxi), or Hijli Station (≈ 2 km away), auto-rickshaws and taxis are available to the campus.
From Kolkata: Take NH6 towards Kharagpur. IIT Kharagpur is located approximately 120–130 km southwest of Kolkata.
From other parts of West Bengal: Use state or national highways connecting to Kharagpur as per your starting location.
