Study chemical dynamics in the gas-phase using high-resolution spectroscopy.
We will start to build and develop chirped-pulse molecular rotational resonance (CP-MRR) spectrometers, and incorporate laser and multi-resonant experimental schemes to understand a variety of molecular processes including collisional energy transfer, relaxation, reaction dynamics, and onset of clustering. Since the multiplexed broadband CP-MRR spectroscopy can obtain the exact 3D-geometry and reaction dynamics information simultaneously, we can obtain unique insights into structure↔reactivity relationship.
We will study combustion and astompheric chemistry using high-resolution Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy by incorporating various triggering techniques including laser ablation.
