Research Statement

Our group is actively involved in the synthesis of inorganic materials, surface active hyrbids, and method development for Environmental Analytical Chemistry applications. The following are the reasearch areas of our interest:

> Preparation of Hybrid/Mixed Metal Oxides/Nanomaterials for photocatalysis and surface applications towards environmental benifits. We are engaged in the synthesis materials by chemical routes for the selective applications like photocatalysis, gas sensing, sensing of pollutants,  oxygen generation, oil spill clean up, microbial fuel cell, self cleaning surfaces, environmental remediation, etc.

> Green Methodologies for selective organictransformation/photo-redox reactions under visible light and sun light: Our group is concentrating on selective organic transformations, green chemistry, redox chemistry using visible light active materials and methods using simple visible light sourses including CFL lamp and solar light.

> Developing Analytical Methods for the detection of heavy metals/toxic organic compounds/ water pollutants/radicals  or ROS (in AOP) using various instruments or chemical approach.

> We also engaged with industries for various R&D issues including chemical process improvements, optimization, yiled or production improvement, pollution control and Analytical R&D consultancies.
